The service, food, drinks, and pleasantry of this place left nothing to be desired. We enjoyed being able to browse the variety of pastries and food options, along with the bountiful amount of drinks, both caffeinated and non caffeinated. This was all highlighted by the prime example of this place being a barista by the name of Regina. In serving us and taking our orders she was most exemplary, generous, and charming. A true mascot and spokesperson for the ineffably grand place that is Urbana. No complaints, no not one.

The coffee and pastries at Urbana Bakes and Gelato are genuinely really good, and that’s honestly what makes writing this review so disappointing. I’ve given this place multiple chances because I really wanted to love it, but unfortunately the customer service has been consistently disappointing every time I’ve visited. Instead of feeling welcomed, I’ve always left feeling like I was inconveniencing the staff just by asking a question or taking a moment to decide what I wanted. I know working in customer service isn’t easy. I work in it myself, so I understand that some days can be overwhelming. But customers should never feel uncomfortable or rushed while supporting a business. What also stands out is that I’m clearly not the only one who’s experienced this. After reading other reviews, it’s obvious that several people have mentioned the same concern, which tells me this isn’t just an isolated incident. It’s honestly a shame because Urbana has so much potential. The coffee and pastries are some of the best in Laredo, but great products alone aren’t enough to keep customers coming back. Customer service is just as important, and I truly hope management takes the feedback seriou

10/10 place. I ordered the lavender latte and the lox croissant with a salad and wow. So so good. Jocelyn and the rest of the staff was also very sweet. Will be coming back next time I visit Laredo :)

First time at Urbana and was excited by the pastry spread! The almond croissant is beautifully made and has an incredible almond frangipane filling with orange zest. Never had one quite like it. Appreciated the Laredo touch. Next time I’ll have to try the breakfast menu.
